So today we headed to the Fernbank Museum of Natural History - Mason had visited as an infant, but today he saw the place with toddler eyes - and it was quite scary. My favorite quote of the day came at our first exhibit, which was dimly lit and he said, "Dark" ...big pause "Need my flashlight!" We bought cheap flashlights at IKEA recently and Mason loves them. Frightened as he was at the beginning of the tour, by the end, he had warmed up to the place - until a girl a little younger than him gave him a giant bear hug that was unwelcome and unappreciated. The dinosaurs and crickets were the biggest hits of the day - as was this buzzing bee hive. Miles Avery just suffered through the whole process - only happy when he was nursing or being held - so it is in the life of a two month old.
...that's how my family used to be described by my then four year old son (he's the medium one, baby brother is small, daddy is big and guess who - mommy - is the girl).

I can hear his voice saying "Flashlight". Glad it went well.
